What happens if it rains?
Like all outdoor training programs, we are unfortunately at the mercy of the weather. Generally speaking, we will train rain or shine. The only time that a session would be cancelled would be for persistent heavy rain and/or thunderstorms.
Should we run into heavy rain and/or thunderstorms at any point during the day, the following process will be adhered to:
In the event of a delay due to heavy rain and/or thunderstorms first thing in the morning:
Once the Program is off and running, if the rain is not too hard, we will continue to play through it. However, if the rain worsens and/or thunderstorms present, we will clear the beach and take shelter until it blows over. We will wait at least 20 minutes following the last sound of thunder. If heavy rains and/or thunderstorms persist, we will notify parents by email to pick up their athlete(s) early.
Who are the training coaches?
Our coaches are all recognized high level volleyball players who have a great way of working with children and teens.
Can my child who is attending the Summer Beach Training also attend the Competitive Beach Training sessions?
Players in the Competitive Beach Training sessions are expected to have a high level of ball control, technical execution and strategic thinking. If an athlete exhibits a comparable skill level, we will generally ask the athlete if they wish to join the more competitive training group for the morning sessions.
What COVID-19 precautions are in place?
We will be following all provincial, municipal and OVA guidelines as athlete and staff safety is our highest priority.
